lost documents

Can anyone pls help with some info:

I graduated in 1987(B.com Pass course).Sometime back, I lost all my educational documents. The only info I have with me is the initial enrollment no. sent by the School of Open Learning. I visited the SOL campus at Cavalry lines twice but no one seems to be able to help and I'm told that unless I give the roll no. of the last exam, they cannot do anything. Is there a procedure to obtain the duplicate marksheet/degree in such a situation and if so, whom do I contact in the University?
