The University of Delhi is one the premier institutions of higher learning in the country. Renowned for its high standards, reputed faculty members, and world class facilities, the university draws students from all over India and from across the world. Delhi University was founded in 1922 with just three colleges and only 750 students. The first colleges affiliated with it were Hindu College, Ramjas College and St. Stephens College. The university offices and the library shifted to its present offices in 1933 which at the time was the Viceregal Lodge Estate. This has remained the main center for all the activities of the University of Delhi being the hub of not just the central administrative offices, examination offices and the sports complex but also the sports complex and the main departments of the Faculty of Science.
